A: From the moment we came into this world as a babe we were destined to come face to face with death! Yet it’s not God’s plan to leave us in the hands of death! He introduced His Son Jesus Christ, who came and died to remove the penalty of death! Yet God in his wisdom did not destroy death completely but left it in our world as an agent for our sanctification. To see it not as a friend but rather an enemy who will be fully destroyed at the second coming of Jesus! Whether Jesus comes or we die and meet him, the purpose of death lies in its defeat! Furthermore, the purpose of death lies in who has defeated it! Jesus! That when we turn our eyes to him will be given a new song to sing in the face of death, written in
1 Corinthians 15:55-56:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
We all have a date with death and for those that believe in Jesus we are given a song to sing until we sing it before him face to face!
